ICE OUT Freedom Vigil

Please join our Freedom Vigil, organized by your fellow community members in solidarity with our friends, neighbors, and community members who are being unjustly detained, deported, and/or have lost their life. By signing up, you will help us build our collective power as we add our vigil to the ever expanding map of Freedom Vigils occurring every week across the country.

During this time when ICE is lawlessly tearing families apart and engaging in human rights abuses at detention centers, our vigil offers a peaceful, powerful way to oppose these cruel attacks on immigrants and show those who are detained, and their families, that they are not forgotten. Let’s raise our voices together, shining a light on the family separations, the detentions in horrific conditions– where some people are literally held in cages– and the deportations happening quietly out of the public eye.

We have chosen to be outside the Fairfax Courthouse adjacent to the Fairfax County Jail, and near the Sheriffs Department. We hold the monthly vigil on the 4th Wednesday of every month form 10:30 am to noon.

This will be a peaceful, family-friendly event. We have signs for volunteers to hold with the names of those who have died ICE related deaths. While you are welcome to bring a sign of your own making, please help us hold the victim signs 'first' to show our honor/respect.

Together, our voices will rise as we build momentum and increase the public pressure to stop the deportations, shut the detention centers, and end the inhumane attacks on immigrants. Thank you!!
