U.S. Jewish Clergy Join Together to Welcome the Stranger

More than 1,100 U.S. Jewish clergy across the denominational spectrum stand united in support of refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants. They affirm our core Jewish values that declare our responsibility for the dignity, humanity, and rights of all who dwell within our borders.

The American Jewish community carries the memory of what it means to flee, to seek refuge, to need a place of safety. We are marked by the memory of migration. This lived experience, our history, our texts and our values all guide us to understand deeply the core commandment that we may not wrong or oppress the stranger. We are called to bring the full weight of our voices and values as Jews and Americans to bring our humanity into a broken world.
